History

Mike Bennetts Mother
Violet Bennett

“Back around 2000, Mike’s mother, Violet Bennett, needed extra care. Mike and I were missionaries serving in Venezuela, so she started looking for an assisted living facility. She was disappointed that there was no such place in Joelton and ended up going to a place in Ashland City. When we came home for our furlough time in 2001, Mike started thinking about what could be done about getting a facility in Joelton. He realized that there was enough land around the house and came up with the idea of using the land to build an assisted living facility. I believe he may have mentioned the idea to Brother David Royalty, but nothing more was said and we headed back to Venezuela. That was all that happened until Brother David Royalty approached me about the possibility of donating land for a facility. I remembered how much Mike had wanted to build something like that given the experience of his mother.”
